Crest Ridge Junior High Basketball tournament is next week November 19-21. Here are the brackets



Varsity girls will play in the LaMonte Jamboree on Wednesday, November 20th @ 5:45 pm v. NW, 6:30 pm v. Lamonte and 8 pm v. Green Ridge.
Each game is 2-8 minute quarters. Bring 3 food items for free admission.


FACS students across classes competed in CUPCAKE WARS where each group came up with a theme, designed a display, and decorated cupcakes. The winner was SCREAM, they all did a great job and it was a very close vote! The students had fun taking their cupcakes to another level.











8th grade English students just finished reading “The Raven”. Students wrote on feathers, they worked on using imagery in their own life and picked out imagery from the story. These students have motivation to learn!


Today at Sweet Springs R-7 we celebrated Veterans Day. Thank you to the JH and HS Choir and HS band for performing at our ceremonies. Thank you to all the Veterans for your service! Happy Veterans Day!











Around the World Family Literacy Night was a hit! Thank you families for joining us! We appreciate Home & School for providing our family meal. Thank you NHS members for also helping serve our families. Janet Scott also joined us offering library card sign ups during the evening. Congratulations to all of our students winning door prizes and Read-A-Thon prizes!

We are thankful for our students, faculty and staff! In celebration of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Sweet Springs R-7 is giving back and holding a food drive for our local food pantry. A pizza party will be awarded to the class that brings in the most canned food for the drive.

SSR7 staff participated in some professional development training on Monday, November 4th, during the I-70 Conference Professional Development Day. Administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals from Sweet Springs, Concordia, St. Paul, Santa Fe, Crest Ridge, Orrick, Wellington-Napoleon, and Lone Jack were in attendance at this event. Special thank you to SSR7 teachers Rachel Navarro, Renae Bridges, Elizabeth Caldwell, and Stephanie Crank for sharing your talents and presenting for a couple of sessions offered at the event.

This weeks events for the high school


Spanish 1 students learned about the cempasúchil, or marigold flower, for the Day of the Dead, and then followed instructions in Spanish for making paper flowers.






We had a great week celebrating Red Ribbon Week! Students were able to win door prizes throughout the week for participating in our dress up days. Congratulations to all of our students winning this year's coloring contest and poster contest. Way to BE! #LIVEDRUGFREE



Congratulations to Ana Navarro, Luna Mallen, and Gracie Storts for being chosen as members of the 2025 Missouri All-State Children's Choir!
