Congratulations to all fifth and sixth grade students selected to perform in the West Central Missouri Music Educators Honor Choir at UCM this past Saturday! A special thank you to Ms. Clifton for sharing her love of music with students and providing opportunities such as this for SSR-VII students!




SSR7 students attended the Children's Literature Festival at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on Tuesday, March 5th. They were able to meet many of their favorite authors and purchase books. Thank you to our librarian, Mrs. Hudson, for encouraging our students to read by rewarding them with special trips like this!
*Each year, students have an opportunity to complete the Annual Mark Twain Challenge at school. Students are asked to read 6 or more of the Mark Twain Award Winning books, write book reports, and pass the AR test for each book. Those who complete the challenge are rewarded with a trip to the Literature Festival.


Saline County Health Department is scheduled to to be at Sweet Springs R-7 on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
The Saline County Health Department is partnering with Sweet Springs Schools to provide students needed vaccinations for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. They will be here to administer vaccines needed for students going into Kindergarten, 8th grade and 12th grade this form needs to be returned to Nurse Taryn by March 14th.

Come join us for our Home & School Carnival on Friday, March 15th for FUN, FOOD, and FESTIVITIES! TACO Dinner for $5 provided by SSHS FCCLA students. Carnival games from 5:30-7pm. Prince and Princess crowning and raffle basket drawings will take place at 7pm! Bring the whole family for FOOD, FUN, GAMES, & ROYALTY! The event will take place in the High School gym and commons.

It's State Competition Cheer Day and your SSHS Competition Cheer Squad brought home some medals and a plaque! 2nd in State for Band Chant and 3rd Place Overall!!! Way to represent, Ladies!


Back-to-back appearances for the District title and ending the season 2nd in the District is certainly something to celebrate! Job well done, Ladies and Coaches! We're so proud of you!


As part of the partnership between SSR7 and HCC Network, any student currently enrolled as a district student in grades 6-11 will have the opportunity to receive a FREE sports physical at school on Thursday, February 29th, from 8 am - 2 pm. These sports physicals will be good for two years from the date of the physical for those students wishing to participate in school activities sanctioned by MSHSAA. Please have your student pick up the form from the HS Office and bring back the required information (instructions on first page of the packet) to the HS Office no later than the morning of Feb. 29 if you would like for your student to participate in this event.

Congratulations to Senior Kade Hudson for qualifying for the State Archery Meet this past weekend at the Otterville Tournament! Kade will compete at the State Competition at the end of March.


Congratulations to the Lady Hounds, Coach Niemeyer and Coach Bridges on their district playoff wins this week! They have advanced to the District Championship title game, which will be played this Friday @ 6pm @ Green Ridge. The Lady Hounds will be playing the Pilot Grove Lady Tigers. Go Lady Hounds!
