Mrs. Castle - Counselor

Greetings!  I am the new Elementary School Counselor this year.  I will be responsible for weekly guidance lessons for grades K-6 as well as being the A+ Coordinator.  I am certified K-12 and look forward to collaborating with Mrs. Weber our High School Counselor, the staff, students and families here in Sweet Springs.  This is my 17th year in education and I am very excited to spend it as a Greyhound!

I am married to Rob Castle and we live outside of Marshall in Shackelford.  We have two grown children, Sara and Mike. I enjoy cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Notes from the Counselor:

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated during the week of October 25th-29th to promote being Drug Free and Bully Free!  We look forward to a week full of festivities including dress up days and learning about the importance of saying NO to drugs and bullying.  Information will be sent home soon.

During counseling in September we have been focusing on what Responsibility means to us.  We have discussed that we are responsible for our words and our actions at school, home, and in our community. We have discussed that we all make choices and that our choices have consequences.  We have talked about internet safety and how important it is to not give out our personal information to someone we don't know, go only to safe sites, and be sure to have adult permission/supervision.  This week we are focusing on being an Upstander against bullying.
