Mrs. Surbaugh - Music

This is my 13th year teaching music at Sweet Springs R-7 Elementary School and my 26th year as a Music teacher.  I moved to Missouri from Florida after teaching elementary music for 15 years in a school of approximately 900-1000 students in grades K-5.  While living in Florida, I was very active in the local community theater where I performed in many productions.  I volunteered as a high school and middle school color guard coach.

I earned my Bachelor of Music in Education Degree with a vocal emphasis from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri in 1985.  At that time, I was married and had two young daughters.  I graduated from Moberly High School where I was very active in band as a clarinetist and a baton twirler.  I also participated in several choirs and theater productions.  I attended elementary school in Eldon, Missouri.  Kansas City, Missouri is my birth place.  My father grew up on a farm in Emma, Missouri, so my roots run deep here.  I am extremely thankful to be in the profession that I have always dreamed of being in since I was a young girl.
